An additional text message stating "Please ensure the printer is in ready state before continuing". A drop down screen stating "Select printer to update" which lists every single print device that I am connected to via Windows. A title bar stating "HP LaserJet P4000 Series Easy Firmware Update Utility v04.120.1 (the specific mention of a product line in the title bar implies to me that this would only work for that particular product line). When I launched it, I was presented with the following: I was given the executable to this (it was dropped onto my desktop, impling a very light presence locally). After this was mentioned, questions came about regarding how this is actually done and what the specific logic/architecture of this utility is. Supposedly, this utility provides a very simple method of updating firmware for any printer that you are connected to via Windows. Earlier this morning, it was mentioned by a colleague of mine during a meeting that there is a utility that HP provides, known as the "Easy Firmware Update Utility".
